No Rain, Rain, Do you really know?
The seven day forecast yesterday was seven days over 100 and no chance of rain. Tonight the weather man says possibility of thunder storms moving in from the north. I couldn't believe it. I went outside and sure enough there was a big thunder head to the northwest. But the big surprise was the vivid colors on the top of the clouds. The colors looked like a psychedelic river flowing up and over the top of the cloud.
The colors were just so intense. I couldn't remember ever seeing this kind of weather phenomenon before and thought others would like to see it as well.

It looks like the northern lights, or at least a version of it. How cool! You should send that in to your local weather station.
My first reaction was to say that it looks like the Northern Lights, but Pam beat me to it! Very cool. :)
I know a Thermodynamics professor at the University of Colorado who also teaches Flow Visualization. She probably would beg, borrow and steal for these pictures.
Since starting this blog I keep my camera handy all the time now. I did send it in to KVUE and it was on the weather last night with pictures that others sent in. Right time, right place and with camera close by, a great combination.
