Water usage

Man, I'm mad at Lance Armstrong. I saw on the news tonight that his water usage at his house is around 330,000 gallons a month, and he's not even home most of the time. After reporting that, the talking heads stated that they would have water saving tips for all us schmucks because we are in drought conditions. Oh yeah, we need to save so that Ol Lance can squander it on I have no idea what. It was already reported once that he was the biggest water user and he hasn't even tried to cut down. Years ago when it was reported that ex Austin mayor Roy Butler was the biggest user, he cut down a bunch on usage. Lance's usage has gone up since the last time. How arrogant can you be. And this was after he nearly destroyed a creek and land mark swimming hole. If I lived in Austin I would have to call my councilman to complain.

When we lived in Liberty Hill and got a water bill, our highest bill showed water usage of 3600 gallons, barely over 1/100th of his water usage. We had gardens there as well as a lawn. We also had milk goats, chickens, and pigs. Maybe I'm just mad about him dumping Sheryl Crowe, even after she watched his kids during his races. But I don't think so. I must ask, how can he use as much water as I used in a month, in 8 hours?

  2. NO, must be Texas rice. That needs lots of water. I would think that he is impacting a number of flora and fauna and the DNR would be after his skin...!

  3. I hope this is old news because I heard about this months and months ago( last year sometime) and he said he had no idea because of course someone else was taking care of his property and paying his bills for him. He could be excused for that but if it is still going on then something is really wrong. Did I hear he had his house up for sale. That water bill would put anyone off.

  4. I may be mistaken, but I think his property is not too far from where I live (near Pedernales Falls State Park). If that is so, then he has no excuse for wasting so much water here where we have so little. I have my water trucked in, at great expense, so I don't deplete the aquifer. I also collect rain water (10,000 gal tank), but we have had so little rain here in the past 8 years, I can't even collect enough water to irrigate, much less live off of. He must have his own private golf course in order to use 330,000 gal a month. That is just ludicrous. Of course, I don't like Lance much either...the Sheryl Crowe thing has a lot to do with that...

  5. Really?? Still?? What a schmuck. I mean, you have the money. hire a friggin' "water Manager" to oversee your place. Would love to know where you saw this. Couldn't find anything online except the old stuff from last year about his first spotlight on overindulging in water.

  6. That 330,000 number comes up in every single story from last year, Bob, which makes me suspect that the news station was "recycling" the story. Were you watching Fox News, LOL?

Sports sites made joking references to Lance Armstrong working as Water Boy for the Giro d'Italia so perhaps that's why the story was brought up.

Sure hope there has been improvement in the past year.
