I was admiring that beauty along the road I live on when I spied a couple taking pictures of their two little girls. As I drove by something caught my eye. The man was trying to get one of the little girls into a little bare spot in the Bonnets, and doing it rather carefully I might add. I turned around and went back to also get a picture. Sure enough, both little girls were in little bare spots and I could not see a Bonnet out of place. I asked the man if I could take a picture of his family while they took pictures. He asked why and I told him it was for my gardening blog. He agreed whole heartily then. I didn't tell him why I wanted their picture but I did tell him the blog address so he could look at it. I hope he does. Here is the proper way to take kid pictures in the wild flowers.

Thanks for advising people to stay off the blue bonnets. One of the prettiest hills of blue was completely wiped out in one year by admirers walking, sitting, laying on blankets on them. I guess you can't change stupid.
Bob - THANK YOU! I cannot tell you how many times I've been tempted to stop and ask flower trompers how they expect anybody after them to enjoy what little they've left. Or, how they'd feel if everybody else had so carelessly tromped over the flowers that none were left for their photo ops.
As far as I know, the Wildflower Center has a spot set up precisely so folks can take those seasonal photos without bending a single bloom. I've always wished the Don't Mess With Texas folks would take on a Don't Stomp on the Bluebonnets secondary campaign!
yeah, I guess I just never thought of the fact that you had to smash a ton of flowers just to get the proverbial bluebonnet photo--we don't really have anything like it, The state flower of Colorado is the columbine and it's not like they grow in fields all willy-nilly...they're much more spread out. Of course, we also didn't have a president's wife going about spreading seeds everywhere. But man, that Ladybird was on to something...
